What brings you comfort? Flowers and books are my number one retreats.
Lately, I have been turning to them often. So much so, that while I am taking a break from my portrait commissions, I have embarked on a small painting series that includes all the springtime flowers blooming in the garden, some of my favorite books.
The two books in this painting are monographs of two of my favorite artists, Pierre Bonnard and Elizabeth Blackadder. I may not paint at all like them... however, I love getting lost in their artistic world.
